The Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle (RTOOT) is pleased to announce the signing of Enrique Varela, Jr., as Composer-in-Residence. Sr. Varela is the staff composer for Icarus Studios LLC, (www.icarusstudios.com), a multimedia and virtual works company in the Triangle that produces serious games ... an oxymoron if there ever was one. Sr. Varela's major influences, as a composer, include Johann Sebastian Bach (no-brainer), Ralph Vaughan Williams, Claude Debussy, Gustav Holst, Igor Stravinsky, and Nobuo Uematsu (see www.nobuouematsu.com).
We believe ourselves to be the only orchestra in the triangle with a resident composer!
